Greenville is surrounded by an abundance of lakes that offer numerous recreational opportunities, including fishing, camping and boating. The newly-opened 120-acre Greenville SportsPark features baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, a walking trail, and the popular KidsZone playground. Greenville also features other parks, including the 9-hole Wright Park Municipal Golf Course.

The City of Greenville Public Library offers a collection of hard-bound books for checkout, as well as reference materials and internet access for research. The Library also features weekly reading events for citizens of all ages.

Greenville is known for its excellent medical care for the entire Northeast Texas region. The Hunt Memorial Hospital District, affiliated with the Presbyterian Healthcare System

of Dallas, offers 148 beds in Greenville and is a full-service acute care hospital with a 24-hour, Level III Trauma Center/Emergency Department.

In recent years, Greenville has been the center of retail development and activity. With its location on Interstate 30, Greenville offers most any type of shopping, including specialty shops at Crossroads Mall. Just as notable is Downtown Greenville’s growing popularity as an antique shopping destination. Greenville is a Main Street City and features an historic Downtown that offers a variety of shopping opportunities. Mary of Puddin’ Hill, located on Interstate 30, is known worldwide for its cakes and candies.

Greenville is also home to the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum and numerous festivals and parades. Greenville citizens are proud of their community and often participate in charitable events, such as Follies, Drug Free Greenville, the Cotton Jubilee and more. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has been performing in Greenville since 1941, making Greenville its only other “home” in all of North Texas. Greenville feels like home because of its friendly neighbors and excellent quality of life.

Greenville offers educational opportunities across the board, whether for skills development or for higher education. It’s one more way Greenville can add value to its excellent location.
